The Self Publisher Association was founded and is regarded as "a loose gathering of writers, artists, publishers, and their fans". But that does not mean that there are no rules to govern how we should respectfully interact. The following are our guidelines for what is not deemed appropriate behavior for people who wish to continue to be associated with the SPA.
RULES FOR POSTING IN THE FORUM:
The CODE OF CONDUCT
-
NO SPAM!!! Anyone who is purposely sending off-topic messages to promote their questionable or non-small press related web sites, products, or other unwanted stuff, without any consideration to our forum, will first be warned in a private message. Self promotion of your publications and art related sites is welcome, but porn, casino, and Viagra type sites are not, and those qualify for immediate banning.
-
Do not use swear words, talk of your sex life (or others), or talk of medical conditions in anything but a respectful way. We have moderators in all forum sections who are instructed to bring any such talk to the Administrator's attention for removal. We will notify any offender of any such removal and warn to keep such talk out of the SPA forum in a private message. Any further infractions can and will result in being banned.
-
No flames! We do not want people to be rude, impolite, and injurious to someone else in any way. Again, we have moderators who are instructed to bring such talk to the attention of the Administrator for action, based on the level of the abuse. Members do not "call out" other members in public. Any and ALL disputes between members will be directed to the moderators and admins for resolution.

When in doubt about anything, contact This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. Just remember, the SPA is a teaching/learning organization, and we have young ears in the forum.
RULES FOR THOSE WITH PHOTO ALBUM ACCOUNTS
-
There are to be no nude drawings or pictures in your album. Attempting to do so will get you a warning, continuing to attempt to do so will get you banned.
-
Violence/horror pictures need to keep a PG level in this forum. The judgment of the Admin team will determine if an image "crosses the line"
These guidelines are subject to updating, and will be in development with our moderation team. All major updates, additions, and changes will be made with a majority vote of the general membership.
